After originally being slated for a January release in the US, Motorola has rushed to get the Moto G ready for the holiday season. It went up for sale, to be shipped on December 2, on Motorola’s website last week, and now the device has come to Amazon.
Quite possibly the most intriguing handset in the Android landscape right now, $180 out-the-door will get you a 4.5-inch 720p HD display, a quad-core Snapdragon 400, Adreno 305 GPU, 1GB of RAM, a 5MP camera, 8GB of storage (16GB for $20 more, well worth it) and a guaranteed update to Android 4.4, KitKat. The Moto G easily bests every other phone in its price bracket, and takes on more expensive phones with ease. Aside from the Nexus 5, there simply isn’t much that can compete with the Moto G on all fronts.
Yes, it lacks LTE, and yes, the camera is pretty lackluster, but don’t let that deter you if you’re considering picking one up. At $180 tax and shipping free (for some), it’s a steal of a deal. And will make for a fantastic gift. Pick up either the 8GB or 16GB model today.
