Google has a new interesting deal for Google Play customers that decide to purchase the Chromecast dongle from the Google Play Store: the company will throw in a free HD movie rental, which can obviously be streamed on a bigger display using the cheap accessory.
Instead of the free HD movie rental, buyers can also choose to receive $6 in Play Store credit, which can be used towards other purchases.
The only catch is that you have to purchase the Chromecast from Google, and not a different provider. Motorola, which also sells the dongle, doesn’t qualify either, even if its a Google company. The offer expires on March 31, and the credit has to be accepted by that date.
Unfortunately, the Chromecast offer is available only to U.S. buyers – the Chromecast isn’t officially available in other markets anyway.
On a related note, the company is also offering free Google Play Store credit with every Google Nexus 7 purchase, and it’s offering free or discounted magazine issues in its Google Play Newsstand app.
