Sony unveils first promo videos for the Sony Xperia Z1 f (Z1 mini)

The Sony Xperia Z1 f is the long awaited mini version of a flagship Android smartphone which retains the high-end specs of its big brother, the Xperia Z1.

Unfortunately, the Xperia Z1 f is currently an exclusive to Japanese carrier NTT Docomo, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t see the smartphone in other parts of the world. Until that day comes, enjoy the two Sony has put out two promo videos for the Sony Xperia Z1 f, comparing it to the larger Xperia Z1, and also giving us a look into its compact frame.

The first video also shows off the aluminum and glass body of the Xperia Z1 f, as well as some of the nifty features inside of the camera app which controls that amazing 20.7MP camera. The second video takes a look at the four colors (white, pink, yellow and black) that the Xperia Z1 f comes in, and then showcases some more camera features.

The Sony Xperia Z1 f keeps the 20.7 MP G lens camera and the quad-core Snapdragon 800 clocked at 2.2GHz found in the Xperia Z1. The Xperia Z1 f does compromise a little, decreasing the screen size to 4.3-inches across with a lower screen resolution of 1280×720, which still retains a relatively high pixel density of 342 PPI. The battery is also smaller, reduced to 2300mAh from the 3000mAh battery found in the Xperia Z1 in order to fit the battery into the smaller frame.

Let’s hope that the Xperia Z1 f makes its way to other shores in the near future, because it could be a real competitor to the iPhone 5S for those who prefer smaller handsets.
