Google kicked a video player off Play Store for mentioning .ass subtitle format

Oh, the profanity!

The Play Store's automated app removal algorithms are supposed to make the distribution platform a safer place for everyone, but unfortunately, the process is prone to false positives. The latest victim to be struck by this is the Just (Video) Player for violating the profanity policy. The app included a note on the subtitle format .ass in its description, which Google's bots identified as a certain body part.

The Play Store sent out an automated email to the developer, telling him that his "app contains content that doesn't comply with the Sexual Content and Profanity policy" and has been suspended.

Spotify is kicking its new audiobook section off with nine classics

Spotify has decided to step into the world of audiobooks, and it's starting things off with nine books you may have heard of narrated by some names you may recognize. If you've been running out of music and podcasts to listen to, it might not be a bad idea to get a better grasp of some literary classics.

These nine audiobooks are part of public domain, but these original recordings are exclusive to Spotify.

Madden NFL 21 is officially coming to Stadia this week

This release also signals a free weekend for Madden 21 across all platforms

Last April, we learned that Electronics Arts would be bringing its games to Stadia, such as Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. At the time of this announcement, EA also stated that the Madden NFL series would be coming to the platform but never stipulated which entry in the series would be Stadia's first. Well, EA has finally decided to announce that this entry will be Madden NFL 21 and that it will be available on Stadia starting on January 28th.

Bitwarden now lets you grant others emergency access to your passwords

The premium feature should give you some peace of mind in case something happens to you

Open-source password manager Bitwarden has gained a feature that might give you some peace of mind in case of an emergency. If you're a premium subscriber (at $10/year), you can now specify designated contacts that can request access to your Vault to help out if you can't get ahold of your passwords yourself.

The feature only works if your contact is a Bitwarden user, but since that's only a matter of signing up for the password manager's free service, that shouldn't be a big hurdle.
