Shortly after Firefox 46 went stable, the beta for version 47 is now available. As is typical for browser updates, the changes are minor and eclectic, but a few this time around can decrease the amount of mobile data you consume by a hair or two.

One change is the option to show or hide web fonts, which is now available under advanced settings. Plus, Firefox will stop using data in the background when a website uses meta refresh.

Thanks to Twitter, Fenix has returned to the Google Play Store

Just a few days ago, one of the most popular third-party Twitter apps for Android, Fenix, was pulled from the Google Play Store because the app had reached its token limit.

Now, thanks to some help from Twitter itself, the app has made its triumphant return to the digital store shelves. Developer mvilla has announced that the Fenix app is now available for new users to install and use once again. When the app reached its token limit earlier this week, it meant that new users wouldn’t be able to download the app, but also that mvilla wouldn’t be making any money from the app, either.

However, with the help of Twitter, that’s no longer the case, and it looks like mvilla’s hard work will continue to see plenty of attention moving forward. However, when asked what happened, mvilla could only say that the developer had “been in contact with the Twitter team and they’ve helped to fix the issue.” So what, exactly, Twitter did to help Fenix out remains a mystery.

Are you happy to see Fenix’s return?

Google Photos adding more powerful search in latest update

Google Photos is one of those apps that nearly every Android user has on their device, but not everyone uses. Nonetheless, Google is continuing to improve the service with frequent updates that add and improve features, both in an effort to keep current users happy and in an attempt to draw in new users. This latest update from Google Photos brings in a few notable features that you should definitely know about.

First off is an improved search experience that is clearly changed from the existing search experience. Google Photos now features a prominent search bar at the top of the UI. Users can tap the search bar and type in their query to instantly begin searching, or they can simply tap the search bar and scroll down to see faces, places, and photo types to help narrow the search category down.

Also added is the ability to customize the movies that the app automatically creates. Users can now add their own music, photos and videos to these automatically created movies. Additionally, users can now rename and delete user-created device folders right from Google Photos. Managing files and folders on SD cards has also been simplified.

The update is now rolling out to Android devices and will be available for iOS in the coming weeks.

What are your thoughts on the new features?

Angry Birds Action! Now Available To All In The Play Store

aba

Well, that Angry Birds movie is going to come out in a few weeks, so the time has come for Rovio's latest promotional vehicle to launch. Angry Birds Action! appeared in the Play Store as a geo-limited beta a few weeks ago, and now it's live for everyone. What's it like? It's a mix of pinball, classic Angry Birds, and desperation. I kid, sort of.

There are eggs that need to be saved in each level, and you do that by running into them with the classic slingshot mechanic.

AT&T is pushing Marshmallow to the LG G3

Marshmallow updates have been raining down lately, with most current and previous flagships now having received the update. One previous flagship, however, has faced quite a long wait. LG was fairly speedy in getting a Marshmallow update out to the LG G3, but the carrier variants have taken a bit longer, particularly the AT&T model. Fortunately, that wait is now over, as AT&T has begun pushing the Marshmallow update out to LG G3 owners on its network.

With the update, you’ll get the usual goodies of Marshmallow. These include Google Now On Tap, which allows for contextual assistance based on what is currently on the screen, as well as Doze, which improves standby battery life. In addition to those, you’ll see LG’s slightly updated UI. Under the hood, you’ll likely also notice some performance and stability improvements. All in all, it should be quite a welcome update.

The update has begun to roll out, but it could be a few days before it reaches everyone. Be patient and savor the reward when you finally receive the update.

During its earning call last night, Nintendo announced that Miitomo has had 10 million users since its release in March, with 20 million 'Miifotos' created and 300 million conversations started. To celebrate reaching the 10 million mark, the company has announced a 10-day promotional period, lasting from April 29 till May 8. There's no word on what this will involve, but I wouldn't be surprised if users can win exclusive, limited-edition clothes for their Mii, or something of that ilk.
