Pusbullet update brings tons of new features

Pushbullet’s Android app is getting a massive upgrade today, folks. Fans of the service — which allows you to push text, files, photos and links to and from your phones, PC and friends, as well as mirror Android notifications on your desktop — will want to download it for the following neat list of changes:

An updated sliding drawer mechanism that uses two-pane style navigation instead of the new overlay-style.

Sharing something to Pushbullet will now bring up an interface overlay instead of kicking you out of whatever app you were sharing from.

Pushes that trigger Tasker events can be automatically dismissed or deleted.

Broadcast a push to all of your devices at one time.

Easier access to multiple accounts.

Easier access to notification mirroring options for each individual app.

Easier access to friend management.

Improved home and lock screen widget design (looks more like the Gmail widget).

Improved tablet optimization.

Exhausted yet? You won’t want to expend all your energy as you’ll need to save some for the process of actually downloading it. As usual, it’s free in the Google Play Store and ready for your grubby little fingers to dig into.

T-Mobile closes deal for 700MHz spectrum, reiterates commitment to LTE rollout

Carrier CTO claims more reliable coverage is coming, and EDGE will continue to disappear in favor of LTE.

T-Mobile has finally closed a deal to acquire highly-valuable 700MHz spectrum from Verizon, enabling the next wave of network upgrades for the carrier. In the wireless world not all spectrum is created equal, with lower frequencies being more desirable because they travel further distances and better penetrate buildings. Both of these attributes are badly needed on T-Mobile's network as it traditionally operates on much higher frequencies between 1700 and 2100MHz, and T-Mobile CTO Neville Ray has a good idea of what they will do with it.

Thew newly-acquired spectrum holdings will improve T-Mobile's LTE coverage in nine of the top 10 and 21 of the top 30 metro areas in the country, simply building on what's already available. These markets include notable cities like New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Miami, Washington D.C. and Detroit. It will also help T-Mobile expand the 10+10MHz networks it currently deploys in many markets to higher 15+15 or even 20+20MHz for even faster LTE speeds.

LG G3 in a rugged case leaks, shows new user interface and a fresh rear setup

The LG G3 will be announced on May 27 when the company holds a few press events across the globe. While we have not seen the entire device, we have been able to get a glimpse at the user interface and the back of the handset. And now we have an image that puts both of those pieces together.

The image above is purportedly the LG G3 sitting inside of a rugged case. The UI matches the one previously leaked and the rear button setup also matches the one leaked recently. Interestingly enough, the UI shows London as the location and that is also where LG’s main event will be held. While it could have easily been a placeholder, it sure is nice to see what the G3 may look like.

Verizon Galaxy S3 update to enable roaming on Canada's Telus

Verizon's Galaxy S3 — yes, that old salt — is getting an update today. And this update, apparently, gives the phone roaming access on Canada's Telus network. And ... well, that's it. You'll be up to Build JSS15J.I535VRUCNC1 with this one. So update at your leisure, if you're the kind who has to update all the things. (Like some of us around here.)

Google Play Games updated to tighten things up a bit

The Google Play Games app got an update this afternoon that largely tightens things up in the visual department.

You can now see requests and gifts from friends in the same place. And the overall look has been updated as well, bringing it more in line with what you're used to in, say, Google+. Plus there are some stability improvements, Google says, along with bugfixes.

Facebook announces “Anonymous Login” that prevents personal information from being shared

We have all experienced it before. You have to login with your Facebook account and it accesses all of your personal information. It does not matter whether you are just testing something. No matter what, Facebook’s third-party applications need to get inside. That all ends today, though. With Anonymous Login, users can try an app without ever having personal information handed over.

Changes are also being made to the regular Facebook login system. Upon logging in with your account, you have full control over what information different applications can access. And the App Control Panel has been redesigned to easily see what apps have access.

So think twice before deciding whether or not you want to give Candy Crush Saga the keys to your profile.
