LG Q8 Launched as a Water-Resistant LG V20 Alternative

Not long after introducing the LG Q6, Q6+ and Q6?, LG rolled out the fourth smartphone from the Q family dubbed the LG Q8.

At launch the product will be offered on the European market for approximately $879 CAD. At the moment we don’t know whether LG plans to bring the phone on the North American continent or not, but as soon as we know more on the topic we’ll update you.

When you look at the LG Q8 you’ll immediately get a LG V20 deja-vu. The phone includes a secondary ticker display on top. It includes a 5.2-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution that looks a bit more compact than the LG V20.

The device includes a Snapdragon 820, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a dual camera setup comprised of a 13-megapixel sensor plus a 5-megapixel one for wide-angle photos and 4K video recording. The selfie camera is of a 5-megapixel variety.

The handset is powered by a 3,000 mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out box. It also includes a Hi-Fi DAC digital to analog convertor for superior audio quality.

The phone is also IP68-certidied just like the LG G6, so it should be able to come out unharmed if thrown in up to 1.5m of water for 30 minutes.

Given the history of the LG Q family, we’ll have to assume, the LG Q8 will arrive with a more affordable price tag.
