Pixel, Pixel XL and Moto Z Are No More at Rogers and Fido

Planning to get a Pixel, Pixel XL or Moto Z? You can still purchase the products in Canada, but if you’re a customer of Rogers or Fido then you should know the carriers have discontinued all three models.

It’s no secret that Google is working on successors for the Pixel and Pixel XL which should make a debut into the wild sometime in October. In anticipation of this grant event, Rogers and Fido are probably looking to make room for the next-gen Pixel devices in their inventories.

In recent months, we’ve been hearing rumours about the Pixel 2 XL which is expected to arrive with a squeezable frame akin to the one of the HTC U11. Info about the standard Pixel 2 hasn’t been so abundant, but the general hope is that Google will release a more affordable phone in the vein of its much acclaimed earlier Nexus phones.

As for the successor for the Moto Z, when Motorola unveiled the Moto Z2 Play some industry insiders claimed no Moto Z2 was coming this year. But with an official press event scheduled for July 27 in New York, we might get to see the Moto Z2 make a debut after all. Although we’re only speculating at this point.

Given that Rogers and Fido have discontinued the original Moto Z we can assume a successor is in the pipeline indeed.
