Yesterday was a big day for Android fans everywhere, as Google announced the Android O Developer Preview. If you are curious to find out what new features it brings to the table, you can go ahead and read our previous article by following this link.
Anyway, as we already told you keep in mind this is merely a Developer Preview, which means it’s not meant for public use. But when should we expect to see the final release of Android O make a debut into the wild?
According to Android Police, which got a hold of the timeline, it should come in Q3. But if Google keeps up with tradition, we’re probably going to see Android O (which will probably have a name by then) launch alongside the Google Pixel 2.
We’re also told there are going to be 4 Developer Previews in total for Android O. The next one is bound to come out in May. Then there’s going to be one which will rock the final APIs and SDK and will arrive in June and the near-final build will be out in July. This puts the final release at some point between June and September 2017.
But for the time being the first Android O Developer Preview is available for owners of the Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P and Nexus Player.
