OnePlus continues to send out minor software updates for its handsets, this time for the recently launched OnePlus 6.
The company’s newest software update is OxygenOS 5.1.9, and it is an over-the-air (OTA) update for the OnePlus 6 being sent out this week. It’s relatively minor in scale, but it does add a few important additions, including tweaks for the camera performance. The system-side part of the update includes adding Android security patch 2018.7 to the mix while also fixing issues with accidental touches activating some gestures.
The camera improvements include overall image quality and a new integrated Google Lens mode, letting you simply activate the feature with a tap. Once Google Lens is activated, it can use the camera to show information pertaining to what’s in the frame, including books, works of art, and more. There is a new Beauty Mode for the self portrait feature as well.
OxygenOS 5.1.9 also includes group MMS, better stability for Wi-Fi connections, and improves the overall performance with Bluetooth while connected to an automobile. There are the standard bug fixes and other improvements in there, too.
The new update started rolling out over the weekend and will continue to see a broader distribution over this week.
