Samsung Canada and MLB Partner to Deliver VR Sports Content

It’s a good day to be a baseball fan in Canada. Samsung just announced it has partnered up with Major League Baseball (MLB) in order to offer fans a sports VR experience.

Canadian with a Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus headset will be able to stream immersive 360-degree videos featuring players, ballparks and key baseball moments throughout the remainder of the 2017 MLB Season.

What’s more, over 20 immersive baseball videos will be available exclusively through the Samsung VR app – the highlight being a story narrated by Toronto Blue Jays center Kevin Pillar himself. On top of that the app offers access to season’s most exciting moments including All-Start events and the American League and National League Championship Series.

The Samsung and MLB joint venture will also enable users to look at player stats, fun facts, stills and videos captured with the Samsung Gear 360 cameras.

Besides the Gear VR headset, fan can also browse and stream content on their Galaxy phones via the mobile Samsung VR app or online at SamsungVR.com.

Looking towards the future, Samsung plans to make VR content available to fans in the US, Japan, Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan.
