Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 is its newest flagship processor

Qualcomm is familiar with powering high-end smartphones and tablets with its flagship processors, and that will probably continue with its latest premiere chipset.

Qualcomm has made the Snapdragon 821 processor official, and it’s very likely it’ll be used for the newest batch of flagship smartphones coming down the pike. According to Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 821 features a quad-core Kryo CPU that can reach speeds up to 2.4GHz, a 10 percent performance increase over the Snapdragon 820.

Interestingly enough, Qualcomm says the Snapdragon 821 will “compliment” the Snapdragon 820, and that the 820 won’t be going anywhere just yet.

The Snapdragon 821 could show up on smartphones and tablets as early as the second half of 2016, but which devices will use the new chipset isn’t known just yet.
