Verizon Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean arrives via Verizon Upgrade Assistant

Yesterday Verizon and Samsung began rolling out Android 4.3 over to the Samsung Galaxy S3, and now it’s the Note 2’s turn!

Arriving as build VRUEMJ9, the Android 4.3 software is available to quite a few Verizon users right now, though with a bit of a catch: at the moment, the only way to get it is by using Verizon’s Upgrade Assistant computer software for Mac and Windows. Luckily, downloading and using the assistant is fairly easy.

So what’s new here? Like the Note 2 update that has arrived to the other major U.S. carriers, you not only get the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean features you’d expect but there’s also quite a few Samsung-specific updates packed in including camera enhancements, an improved multi-window mode, improved PenUp software, Knox support and the ability to work with the Galaxy Gear. There’s also several updates to Verizon’s included software and the update has even added a few new tricks — like the ability to move apps to the SD card.

While getting the Android 4.3 update and Premium Suite via a software downloading assistant isn’t quite as convenient as having the OTA rollout ready to go, it’s never wise to look a gift-horse in the mouth. For those that would rather download directly from their handset, more than likely the OTA should start rolling out later today or, at the very least, over the next few days.

For those that have already grabbed the update, what do you think? Did the installation process go smoothly?
