Last November, my favorite podcast and its associated network—The Last Podcast On The Left and Last Podcast Network (LPN)—signed a 2-year exclusive deal with Spotify, for what I can only assume was a very substantial sum of money. That deal meant, as of February, all of the network's millions of listeners would have to download Spotify to listen to new episodes of LPN's many popular shows, and that they would no longer be able to do so via traditional podcast feeds.
