Samsung plans to launch Bixby 2.0 with Galaxy Note 9

It has been several months since Samsung announced Bixby 2.0. At the time, it wasn’t known when Samsung planned on launching the big upgrade to the digital assistant/interface, but we have a launch window now, thanks to ZDNet and comments made by Samsung Mobile CEO DJ Koh.

According to the chief executive, as long as everything goes well behind-the-scenes, he believes the Samsung “will be able to unveil Bixby 2.0 when we launch the Galaxy Note 9″.

He also confirmed that Samsung began taking applications from companies to test out Bixby 2.0 back in December of last year, and since then, over 800 companies applied and are now testing the software ahead of a public launch.

Bixby 2.0 is a massive overhaul of the feature, basically making it open-source and giving access to the Bixby SDK to third-party companies and developers. The goal here is to broaden Bixby’s availability, expanding from smartphones to other devices like refrigerators, televisions, and more.

Are you eager to try out Bixby 2.0 later this year? Are you a fan of the feature at all?
