Amazon sold ‘tens of millions’ of Alexa-enabled devices during the holidays

We saw lots of deals on the Amazon Echo during the past month or so, and it looks like all of those special offers paid off.

Amazon confirmed today that it sold “tens of millions” of Alexa-enabled products worldwide this holiday season. Exact numbers haven’t been given, but Amazon does say that the Echo Dot and Fire TV Stick were the best-selling products from any manufacturer in any category across all of Amazon.

There were some pretty aggressive deals on Amazon’s Echo devices in recent weeks, and so it’s no surprise to hear that the Alexa-enabled hardware sold well, especially when it comes to the low-cost Echo Dot. That’s also big news for the ecosystem of Alexa devices, and it could spur developers to create more skills for Amazon’s digital assistant in the future.

Amazon is still offering deals on the new Echo (2nd Gen.) and Echo Dot, so if you’re looking to get your first Alexa device or add Amazon’s assistant to more rooms in your home, hit the links below.
