Samsung Galaxy S8 Active reportedly heading to T-Mobile

The Galaxy S Active lineup has traditionally been an exclusive launch for AT&T, but it looks like that trend will be coming to an end soon.

According to a report from VentureBeat, citing marketing materials the publication was able to see, the Galaxy S8 Active will be heading to T-Mobile. Those materials say that the T-Mobile variant will be available in Titanium Gold and Meteor Gray and that the model number will be SM-G892T. Compare that to the AT&T model number of SM-G892A.

This report doesn’t have any solid information as to when a launch might happen or what the phone will cost. AT&T is currently selling it for $849.99, though, so it’s likely it’ll cost somewhere around there.

The Galaxy S8 Active, like the previous Active handsets, is a tougher version of the Galaxy S flagship that preceded it. So for folks who don’t want to put a case on their device, but want a rugged smartphone, this is one way to accomplish that and keep most of the standout features that launched with the flagship model.

If you’re a T-Mobile customer, will you consider picking up the Galaxy S8 Active?
