The August 2017 Android distribution numbers are in

The Android distribution numbers are in for August of 2017 and Nougat is continuing to slowly rise up in the ranks. It has gone up 2 percent in the last month, while its predecessor Marshmallow has gone up half a percent. Thankfully, everything else has gone down.

Unfortunately, the 13.5 percent stake that Nougat holds is fairly insignificant considering that the last Android O developer preview is out and it is in a near-final state. We should be seeing Android O launch fairly soon, and when it does, Nougat will be outdated before it can even get to 20 percent. Marshmallow was released almost two years ago and it still reigns supreme at 32.3 percent.

We’re looking forward to seeing Android O finally hit this chart at release!
