Skype Mobile Users Can Now Send Money to Their Friends with PayPal

Want to send money fast and secure? If you’re a Skype user now you can do so via PayPal. Microsoft just announced PayPal integration into Skype, so you can now easily send money to your friend while your chatting in the mobile app (Android and iOS).

The integration is being rolled out in Canada and other 21 other countries across the globe. To get started you’ll need to download the lasted Skype version for Android. However, the receiver of the funds can be a user of an older version of Skype.

To start sending money to someone, just swipe right in your chat window and tap the Send Money option. If you’re sending money abroad, in Europe for example, there’s the option of sending the sum in their own currency (Euro).

A few months ago, Microsoft announced a major overhaul for Skype – the first one since 2006. The change in look should have – at least in theory – helped the service better compete with the likes of Snapchat and Facebook. However, it left its user base divided.

Now Microsoft is trying to make new Skype more attractive by adding the option of sending money through PayPal’s popular service.
