Samsung Galaxy S8 now gaining Google Daydream VR support

Google’s Daydream VR platform is now available to many more people.

Google says that Daydream VR support is now rolling out to the Galaxy S8 and S8+. With it, GS8 and GS8+ users can install the Daydream app from the Play Store and begin experiencing all of the games and apps that Daydream VR has to offer.

We’ve known that Daydream VR support was coming to the Galaxy S8 for a while now, but it’s still exciting to see it finally rolling out. Now Google’s VR platform will be available to many more users, and perhaps that’ll bring some exciting new content with it. Meanwhile, Galaxy S8 users now have access to another virtual reality option in addition to Samsung’s Gear VR platform.

The timing of this Daydream VR update for the Galaxy S8 is good, too, because there’s currently a sale on Google Daydream View VR headsets. So if you’ve got a GS8 but no Daydream headset, give these deals a look.
