The Nokia 5 and Nokia 6 are the latest budget devices from Nokia and HMD Global. With most budget devices, software support is iffy at best. Getting an update to the next Android OS version is nice, but consistent security updates are pretty uncommon.
Not only are the Nokia 5 and 6 getting the latest security patches, but they’re getting the patch on the same day as Google’s own Pixel and Nexus devices. The current August security patch is now rolling out to the duo. This is nothing short of impressive on Nokia’s part. Security is a growing issue in the current age and keeping budget devices secure and updated is great for the consumer.
