Lenovo says no Android 7.0 update for Phab 2 Pro or other Phab devices

Lenovo recently made a lot of folks happy when it said it’d be ditching its custom Vibe Pure UI for stock Android in future smartphones, but now the company has shared some less than exciting news about some of its previous devices.

Lenovo says that it has no plans to upgrade its Phab products, including the Phab 2 Pro, which launched last year as the first consumer-focused Tango AR device. The full list of Phab devices that won’t be updated includes the Phab 2 Pro, Phab 2 Plus, Phab 2, Phab Plus, and Phab.

The Phab 2 devices are all currently on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, while the Phab Plus and Phab are on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

It’s disappointing to learn that Lenovo has no plans to update these Phab devices to Android 7.0 Nougat. The Phab 2 devices debuted in 2016, and as we mentioned before, the Phab 2 Plus is especially notable because it’s a flagship Tango AR device that launched to the public less than one year ago for $499.

Did any of you pick up one of Lenovo’s Phab devices?
