Being able to get in touch with emergency services is one of the most important features of any phone, even if the hope is that most people never have to use it.
Unfortunately for OnePlus, it seems there is an issue causing some OnePlus 5 units to reboot at a bad time. Reddit user Nick Morelli found that his OnePlus 5 suddenly rebooted after he called 911. Since then, a handful of OnePlus 5 owners have chimed in with a similar issue, including one in the United Kingdom, where dialing 999 also caused the OP5 to reboot.
In a statement to The Verge, OnePlus says, “We have contacted the customer and are currently looking into the issue. We ask anyone experiencing a similar situation to contact us at support@oneplus.net.”
While most users haven’t reported the issue, this isn’t the type of problem that would crop up in huge numbers. However, any percentage of OnePlus 5 owners that are facing this problem isn’t good, and OnePlus should be working diligently on fixing this as quickly as possible.
