A few days ago Samsung all but confirmed the Galaxy Note8 will be unveiled during a press event scheduled to take place on August 23 in New York.
Now, we know the phone will take advantage of the best possible specs. It will have a large Infinity Display and take advantage of a Snapdragon 835 in combination with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.
But according to information posted on China’s microblogging website Weibo, Samsung will apparently release a Galaxy Note8 variant with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will allegedly be dubbed Emperor Edition.
The Emperor Edition is just a rumour at this point, but given that Samsung offered a Galaxy S8+ version with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage in South Korea and China, this high-end variant might very well end up being released on the market after all.
Sadly, it will probably come bearing an exorbitant price tag. A recent leak revealed the Galaxy Note8 will be the most expensive Samsung phone ever, with a rumoured price tag of $1,000+ CAD.
The Emperor Edition will most likely easily surpass $1,500 CAD. But chances are the phone won’t be sold on the North American continent, just like the special edition Galaxy S8+. But if it did, would you want one?
