KFC and Huawei announce special edition Enjoy 7 Plus in China

Special edition phones are common, especially when it comes to giant properties like films. Now Kentucky Fried Chicken can say they’ve got a special edition phone, too.

Huawei and KFC officially announced the Enjoy 7 Plus today. It has a 5.5-inch display and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor under the hood. Also included is 32GB of built-in storage, a microSD card slot that can support cards up to 128GB, and 3GB of RAM. The KFC-branded Enjoy 7 Plus features a fingerprint reader, too, and the battery measures in at 3020mAh.

And yes, Colonel Sanders’s face is prominently placed under the fingerprint reader, and just above 1987. That year is important because it means that 2017 is the 30-year celebration of KFC’s launch in China.

There’s also a KFC-branded music app preinstalled on the phone, which owners will be able to use to play custom-built music playlists while they’re visiting a KFC location. There will only be 5,000 of these devices sold in China, and they’ll go for 1,099 yuan (about $162 USD) each.

So, here’s a KFC-branded smartphone! What a world we live in.
