HTC Ocean Life may feature Edge Sense and 16MP camera

HTC‘s flagship U11 has been a success for the company, and now it looks like HTC may be wanting to capitalize on that momentum.

Rumor has it, thanks to LlabTooFeR, that HTC is currently working on a handset that is codenamed Ocean Life. The device will be like a smaller version of the U11, outfitting many of the larger handset’s features into a smaller frame. The Ocean Life will support Edge Sense, which allows owners to squeeze the side of the phone to interact with the device, like launching an app. It’ll also boast a 5.2-inch 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor under the hood, and a 16-megapixel camera on the back.

HTC’s Ocean Life is also said to feature Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity, a 16-megapixel front-facing camera, Android 7.1.1 Nougat, a battery that measures in at 2600mAh, and HTC’s Sense 9.0 user interface.

It’s rumored that the Ocean Life will have HTC’s USonic technology on board, too, which the company says can analyze the owner’s inner ear to optimize the sound profile for the best possible listening experience.

With a smaller display and a few necessary spec cuts, the Ocean Life will probably be a bit more affordable than the flagship U11. With that said, there’s no word on a price point or release date just yet.

If the Ocean Life is real, do you think you’d consider picking one up?
