HMD will unveil the Nokia 8 on August 16

Nokia and HMD Global have released a few Android devices to date, but we’ve yet to see the oft-requested high-end flagship phone. Now that wait appears to be coming to an end.

HMD is sending out invitations for an event on August 16 in London. Of course, the invitation doesn’t come right out and say that the Nokia 8 will be the handset that takes the stage, but considering the rumor mill is pointing to the imminent reveal of the flagship handset, that seems like the safe bet at this point.

As for what the Nokia 8 is rumored to bring to the table? It’s said to feature a 5.3-inch display with a resolution of 2560×1440 and it’ll allegedly have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, maybe up to 6GB of RAM, and a pair of 13-megapixel cameras on the back with Carl Zeiss lenses.

If the rumors pan out, this will be another high-end handset to choose from. The question is, can Nokia and HMD Global stand out enough to bring in plenty of sales? Do you plan on picking up a Nokia 8?
