Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 flip phone now official

Way back in August of last year, a pair of images surfaced that allegedly showcased the Samsung Galaxy Folder 2, another Android-powered flip phone.

At the time it wasn’t known when, or even if, Samsung actually planned on launching the handset, but today we finally have an answer. The company has officially announced the Galaxy Folder 2 in both black and burgundy (two colors not initially hinted at last year), and it is available in South Korea only.

The Galaxy Folder 2 is similar enough to its predecessor, but this version does have a slightly bigger keypad. It also features a 3.8-inch display, 2GB of RAM, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor, and a battery that measures in at 1950mAh. It can support a microSD card up to 256GB, and it’s priced at 297,000 won (about $260 USD). There are LTE and 3G variants, and it’s running Android 6.0.

No word on whether or not Samsung plans on launching the Folder 2 anywhere outside of South Korea. If they did, would you buy it?
