Unlocked LG G6 now available for purchase

While most folks in the US prefer to buy their phones from their carriers, some people prefer unlocked handsets and the freedom that they come with. Now those people can pick up LG’s new Android flagship.

The unlocked LG G6 is now available from Amazon for $599.99 if you pre-order from Amazon itself or $629.77 if you buy from a third-party retailer. B&H Photo Video is also asking $599.99. And then there are LG and Best Buy, with the former asking $699.99 for its G6 pre-orders and the latter saying that the G6 is out of stock.

This unlocked version of the LG G6 is the same as the carrier versions, complete with a 5.7-inch display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and 2880×1440 resolution, a Snapdragon 821, and dual 13-megapixel rear cameras, one with a standard 71-degree field of view and one with a wide 125-degree field of view. What makes this phone different is that it comes unlocked with support for both GSM and CDMA networks.

Unlocked smartphones also typically come with fewer preinstalled apps since there are no carrier apps included, and they usually (but not always) get faster updates since the updates don’t have to go through carrier testing. If that sounds appealing to you, then you can get a closer look at the unlocked LG G6 at the links below.
