Remember Sony’s strangely-shaped Xperia L smartphone, the one which got released back in 2013? Well four years later the Japanese device maker pushed out a successor called the Xperia L1.
Although this time Sony has traded the bizarre look for a very stylish one. The phone features a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720-pixel resolution and a 64-bit MediaTek quad-core CPU clocked at 1.45GHz under the hood.
The handset also packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB of native storage (a microSD card slot is available which allows for memory expansion to up to 256GB).
Like most lower-to-middle rangers out there, the phone has a 13MP main camera with autofocus and LED flash onboard and a 5MP selfie camera.
The new Sony Xperia L1 runs a custom version of Android Nougat out of the box which can automatically adjust different settings such as volume, brightness or notifications by sensing what you are doing.
The phone relies on a 2,620 mAh battery to stay alive. At this point Sony hasn’t specified how much it would be asking for the device, but we expect it to be “affordable”. You’ll be able to grab it in white, black, pink.
The Xperia L1 is coming in late April in select markets from North America, so we can assume the device will be available in Canada too, until further notice.
