Google is currently putting a big emphasis on the Google Assistant. The search giant just started rolling out the virtual companion for owners of all Android phones with Marshmallow or Nougat onboard, but it’s also cooking up some new features.
According to a thread on Reddit, some users have started noticing some changes already. For example, when launching the Assistant one might be greeted by the a new “What’s on my screen” option and the “Share screenshot” functionality. Users also note the disappearance of the swipe up for screen search option and “Send feedback” button.
Google is testing this features with a select number of users, so if you don’t see it when you open your Google Assistant don’t be alarmed.
In the big picture, these small changes won’t change how the Google Assistant ultimately works. Although they might help users save some time, by presenting with different set of options as soon as the Assistant launches.
It’s encouraging to see that Google is striving to make the Assistant better and better. While Google’s offering could be considered the superior offer while virtual AI-driven companions are concerned, it’s still far from being perfect. That’s why Google’s needs to continue to tweak it and fine-tune it.
