Sony launches Xperia Touch smart projector

Mobile World Congress is in full swing, with product announcements left and right. One of the more notable products is Sony’s Xperia Touch Android projector. The Xperia Touch can turn any flat surface into a 23-inch HD touchscreen that has a variety of capabilities ranging from streaming video to playing games. More importantly, the fact that it’s powered by Android allows it to run any app or game from the Google Play Store, opening up a wide world of possibilities. Additionally, PlayStation 4 Remote Play works with the Xperia Touch, creating even more opportunities.

The Xperia Touch uses Sony’s SXRD projection technology paired with a camera that senses Infrared light at 60 frame per seconds, enabling touch technology. Sony has created a custom home screen skin that’s designed for ease of use in any lighting condition. Users can quickly see the weather, take video notes, use Skype, see their calendar and more.

The Xperia Touch is rolling out to select European retailers in Spring 2017. It will also be available in select countries via the Xperia Store Online. Suggested pricing is set at €1499 ($1593 USD).
