Google Home arrives in the UK this spring

Google Home, the smart speaker, launched in the United States back on November 4. Since then, the international rollout for Home has been eagerly anticipated by those wanting to put the device in their living space. For those in the United Kingdom, the wait is almost over.

Early this morning, Rory Cellan-Jones of the BBC tweeted out that Google SVP of Hardware Rick Osterloh has confirmed that Home will arrive in the United Kingdom in the second quarter of this year.

The tweet added that the AI skills and “vast data” of Home would give it an advantage over Amazon’s Echo. The Echo has been available in the UK since September of last year, so it certainly has had plenty of time to gestate in the region.

If you’re in the US, do you own a Google Home? How do you like it? For those in the UK, are you eagerly awaiting the Home’s arrival?
