Koodo Moto G4 Plus Getting Android 7.0 Nougat in February

If you are Moto G4 Plus owner and reside in Canada, then you’ll probably be very happy to know that your device will be getting Android 7.0 Nougat next month.

The information was revealed by Telus’ subsidiary Koodo. Android Soul managed to get its hands on information revealing that Koodo is planning to unleash the Nougat update for the Moto G Plus on February 11.

It’s quite sensible to assume that other carriers will start updating their respective Moto G4 Plus versions around the same date. The leak also suggest the Koodo Moto Z variant will get Android Nougat come March 4, while the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge will get in on February 8.

It remains to be seen if any this info pans out, but we’re keeping our finger crossed. The Moto G4 Plus is one of the most popular budget smartphones out there.

The phone features a 5.5-inch display with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a Snapdragon 617 under the hood. Motorola offers several variants including 2GB/16GB, 3GB/32GB or 4GB/64GB of RAM and internal storage respectively. For those who want more there’s a microSD cardslot onboard which allows for memory expansion up to 256GB.

The Moto G4 Plus also takes advantage of a 16MP/5MP camera duo plus a non-removable 3,000 mAh battery. The phone is known for its long life cycle and with Android 7.0 Nougat onboard things are certainly bound to improve.
