AT&T has announced that beginning tomorrow, AT&T mobile customers will be able to send text messages using their voice via an Amazon Echo or Amazon Echo Dot. AT&T is the first carrier to offer this functionality.
You can add up to 10 contacts to this “skill” (basically a third-party addition) and send them text messages hands-free by speaking to Alexa. Of course, you’ll need an Alexa-enabled device to do so, but Amazon’s own Echo devices aren’t the only ones with Alexa on board.
The feature starts rolling out tomorrow and AT&T will be putting the Echo and Echo Dot on its site and in retail stores for you to purchase. How many of you will be using this feature?
