Recently, we saw the introduction of Diane Von Furstenberg’s “Made for Glass” collection of style-oriented frames for Google Glass. Today, we’re seeing them become available for $1800 a piece. Is the $300 price bump worth it for wearing DVF frames? That’s for you to decide, but they certainly do add a bit of flair to the otherwise minimal design of Google Glass.
The DVF collection isn’t yet in the Glass store, but we’re told that it should be added later today, so keep checking the Glass website to see if it’s arrived yet. If you’re a guy looking for something in the titanium collection, however, MR Porter is now carrying three styles in its online store for $1,650.
While Glass is still too pricey for most people, it’s a promising sign that a prolific fashion designer like Diane Von Furstenberg is getting involved. It doesn’t seem necessary to most of us who aren’t in the fashion world, but it brings attention to Glass from people who otherwise wouldn’t have considered it.
Do you own Google Glass? If not, what would make you purchase Glass?
