Archos to release two 4G LTE smartphones at CES 2014

Archos announced today that they will be releasing two new 4G LTE capable smartphones at CES 2014 next week. These devices will mark Archos’ entry into the 4G market and consistent with their commitment to provide consumer-friendly technology, the devices will be unlocked. The devices will also be affordably priced at €199.99 (≈$273 USD) for the Archos 45 Helium 4G and €239.99 (≈$328 USD) for the higher end Archos 50 Helium 4G.


Both devices will come equipped with a quad-core processor running at 1.4 GHz, 1GB of RAM, and support for microSD cards for external storage. The Archos 45 Helium 4G will come with a 4.5-inch 854×480 resolution screen and a 5MP camera. The Archos 50 Helium 4G is slightly larger with a 5.0-inch 1280×720 resolution screen and has a slightly better camera at 8 MP along with a marginally larger battery at 2000mAh versus its sibling’s 1700mAh batter. Both devices will come loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
