Photo from a Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 surfaces, proves it exists

The Samsung Galaxy Camera was an innovative product that failed to gain much traction, which is quite unfortunate. It was a point and shoot camera with a full Android device built in, meaning that the photos you take can be edited using any app on the Play Store and shared via WiFi. It’s quite awesome, but the high price tag wasn’t too appealing.

Now we know that Samsung is at least experimenting with a successor to the device. The original was called the EK-GC100, and this photo was taken by an EK-GC200. Thanks to @evleaks, we get to see the photo. And yes, we know it’s terrible, but the photo quality isn’t the point. The point is that it exists.

It’s quite common for first generation products to fail on the market, so it’ll be interesting to see what Samsung does to get people to buy this device. Hopefully it won’t be sold through carriers without any WiFi model from launch. But really, the idea is great. Execution just needs some work, and this is Samsung’s chance. Are you hoping the Galaxy Camera 2 will succeed?
