New Patent Demonstrates How Motorola Could Make Flexible Smartwatches a Reality

Motorola appears to be making good on its ambitions on putting its hat in the wearable’s ring if the company’s most recent patent filing has anything to say. According to the US Patent Office Motorola has filed a patent on a wearable smartwatch that comes with a flexible display. The way it would work is the watch would have links, with a the display flexing along the links via grips. However it may be some time before flexible parts catch up with flexible displays, at least on a mainstream level. It’s anyone’s guess when we would see such a device, even if the idea itself makes one’s wallet feel lighter just thinking of it. Hopefully it’d be less of an eyesore than the MotoACTV.
