Instagram hosted an event in New York City today to unveil Instagram Direct. Direct allows you to share certain photos and videos with select friends. Everyone will get a new icon at the top right corner of the feed. It will open your inbox where all these privately shared stuff will reside. You won’t be able to see anyone’s private photos/videos unless they shared them with you and you follow them. When you want to share a photo or video with a limited number of people, you can do so by selected “Direct” and tapping the names of the people you want (up to 15). You will also be able to see who has seen your photo or video as well as who liked it, and of course see the comments unfold.
Seems pretty cool, but you can already do this with Google+ very easily. Just sayin!!!
