Oppo Find X will have a variant with 10GB of RAM

Smartphones continue to advance as companies find ways to pack thin frames with more features and better specs.

Oppo will be the first smartphone manufacturer to boast a device with a whopping 10GB of RAM, according to data discovered in the TENAA filing for the handset. TENAA is the Chinese equivalent to the FCC in the United States, which means these specs are expected for a finalized version of Oppo’s Find X smartphone. If this phone does come to market, it will be the first handset with 10GB of RAM.

The Oppo Find X features a 6.4-inch OLED 1080p HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and 8GB of RAM under the hood, and storage options that go up to 256GB. The Find X battery measures in at 3750mAh and it’s running Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box under Oppo’s proprietary Color OS. The handset also boasts a pop-out camera design, with a 24MP front-facing camera, along with a 16MP and 20MP dual rear camera setup.

Unfortunately, we know the Oppo Find X won’t be launching in the United States. But, if this is a precursor to what’s to come, then it’s only a matter of time before we see additional smartphones from other manufacturers with 10GB of RAM as well.

SwiftKey gets Microsoft Translator support in stable version

Microsoft owns SwiftKey these days, so it's no surprise some Microsoft features have wormed their way into the keyboard. For example, Microsoft Translator popped up in the beta version some weeks back. Now, Translator has arrived in SwiftKey stable with v7.1.4.19.

The Microsoft Translator support is the headliner, but there are a few new languages as well. Here's the latest changelog.

Google Pixel 3 promotional images and video leak out

The rumor mill continues to work overtime in its effort to reveal everything about the upcoming Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL.

This time, MySmartPrice has a series of promotional images for the Pixel 3 to show off, including a brand new video that shows off how to use the handset and its features. As you might imagine, while these latest images are crystal clear and show off the Pixel 3′s design, we’ve seen the phone so many times now that there’s not much of a surprise there by itself.

As for the video, we can see how to add app icons to the home screen, how to access the app drawer, how the squeeze feature will activate Google Assistant, and more. The video shows how you can use the camera to scan an email address on a business card to setup a new contact, and long-pressing on a restaurant’s name in an email can make reserving a table super easy.

We know that Google is going to announce the new smartphones on October 9, but we don’t know when they will go on sale or just how much they will cost. We’ll probably know those last little bits of important information before the phones are official, too, based on how the leaks have progressed up to this point.

Capcom’s military sim Black Command is out on Android

After the noteworthy release of Monster Hunter Stories earlier this week, it's surprising to see Capcom releasing another game on the Play Store, and this time around it's actually an original IP for mobile. It's called Black Command, and it is a military sim that's been designed in collaboration with Japan's largest military website so that it accurately reflects real-world military standards.

This is painful to watch, you have been warned.

Cloud Silver and Midnight Black Galaxy Note 9 models coming to the U.S.

Samsung regularly releases new color options for its flagship phones in the months following their launch, and the Galaxy Note 9 is no different.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 is getting new Cloud Silver and Midnight Black color options in the U.S. The Midnight Black color has actually be available internationally since the Note 9 first launched, but Cloud Silver is a new color that’s launching in the U.S. first.

The Cloud Silver Note 9 will be available exclusively at Best Buy stores, BestBuy.com, and Samsung.com starting October 5th. The 128GB Midnight Black Note 9 will be available on October 12th from carriers, retailers, enterprise distributors, and Samsung.com, and the 512GB Midnight Black Note 9 will follow on October 26th.

Dragalia Lost by Nintendo is available for Android

Back in August Nintendo announced that Dragalia Lost would launch on Android on September 27th. Well, today is the day, and Nintendo has indeed delivered. So if you have been hankering for a new gacha RPG with pleasant chibi graphics, and some of the best music found on Android, then you're going to want to check this out. Not everything is perfect, but there is still enough to like here to give it a shot.

Google Phone v24 includes first pieces of Dark Mode [APK Teardown]

As many people had hoped, Google has been progressively adding dark modes to some of its core apps. Last month, there was even a teaser added to the Play Store changelog for the Google Phone app that promised to give users a choice between the all white look that has become so common, or a dark look that promises to be easier to the eyes, especially at night. The latest version is out, but unfortunately, this update won't be the one to enable dark mode.
