Google TV would like you to care what celebs are watching

Orange Is the New Black actress Laverne Cox kicks off the Watch With Me series

The Google TV interface for Android TV and the latest Chromecast has quickly turned into an advertisement space for getting you hooked to the latest content — much to the dismay of many Android TV owners. But Google isn't looking to stop that practice anytime soon. Instead, the company has just launched a new "Watch With Me" series. In it, entertainers, artists, and cultural icons will share their favorite shows and movies to watch, right on your Google TV homescreen.

You can now log into Twitter on Android with your 2FA key alone

It can now be your only two-factor authentication method

Twitter has had two-factor security based on physical keys, like the Yubikey or Google's Titan keys, for a long time. You've been able to log in with said keys on your phone (assuming your key works with your phone) for a few months. But what if you have to manage your company's PR Twitter account while on the go? Or more typically, what if you have a USB-A key for your desktop and an NFC key for mobile usage?

The first three Final Fantasy remasters are coming to Android this month

Slated for release on July 29, a day after the PC versions

Square Enix announced at E3 that it's remastering its classic Final Fantasy games with 2D pixel graphics. Final Fantasy I through VI will see all new releases on mobile and PC, each as a separate title. Clearly, Square is looking to sell these games all over again since many of the previous remasters offer graphics fans don't like, whether that be the dated and undetailed 3D graphics of III and IV or the much-hated redesigned mobile graphics used in V and VI.

Months after adding support for 1:1 conversations

We've all been late to an upcoming meeting, especially when running from one Google Meet call to the next. Common courtesy is to let people know you're going to be late, but this should be as easy as possible, especially when you're already short on time. Google Workspace introduced a feature a few months ago that made it convenient to chat with people with whom you're about to meet, and with its latest update, it's even easier to reach out to groups.

Vaccination cards are becoming an increasingly important part of our lives as more people are getting vaccinated against COVID-19, but carrying some paper proof with you all the time is a hassle. Starred messages rolling out in latest Messages beta

Save information for faster-access later

A couple weeks back, Google announced that we'd be able to "star" messages in the Google Messages app to better keep track of important ones — you know, things like addresses, Wi-Fi passwords, or instructions. Though Google gave the feature fanfare at the time, it wasn't actually available. But reports indicate it has started rolling out for those using the Google Messages beta.

The feature works simply. Just long-press a message and you'll have a new star icon on the top bar.
