Recently published by the USPTO, Samsung has filed two patents that will potentially improve their S-Pen in the near future with a microphone and speaker built right in. The idea is that the user will be able to make phone calls and perform various voice commands straight through the S-Pen. Comments from Samsung themselves states that they’re hoping the Pen will become an extension of the device and allow people to “substitute the pen for a wireless headset,” even claiming that users can “mount the pen to a shirt pocket or the like and communicate in a phone call using the portable terminal as a base.”
