Following its announcement of the MediaPad X1, Huawei has announced two more devices at Mobile World Congress both featuring next generation 150Mbps Cat 4 LTE: the 4.5-inch Ascend G6 and 8-inch MediaPad M1.
Both devices are meant to be easily affordable with relatively low price-points and their spec-sheets reflect that. Huawei’s guessing there’s plenty of people who’d be willing to make the sacrifice in something like display resolution for super fast data speeds.
Available in a wide variety of colors including pink, blue, black, white and gold, the Ascend G6 is a handsome slate coming in at 7.85mm thick (for the LTE variant, 7.5mm for 3G) featuring a 4.5-inch 960 by 540 display, 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 8 megapixel f/2.0 camera, 5 megapixel front-facing camera, NFC and a 2000mAh battery.
The MediaPAd M1 falls far behind the X1 specs wise, but doesn’t underwhelm with an 8-inch 1280 by 800 display, 1.6GHz quad-core processor, 1 megapixel front-facing camera, 5 megapixel camera and 4800mAh battery inside a 7.9mm shell.
Both devices are expected to launch in Q1 2014 at 299 Euros for the M1 and 249 Euros for the LTE enabled G6.
