If you ever thought you might be able to design a better game than what what you can find in Google Play or maybe you just want to implement your own spin on a game genre, a new app slated for release in the first quarter of 2014 may just be the ticket you were looking for. Createrria is an app coming to the Android platform, and later in the year to iOS, that will let users create and share games for Android. In an interesting twist, you will not need a computer to put all the code together and generate an app as everything will be handled within the Createrria app on an Android device.
Development of games appears to be limited to certain types of platforms – scrollers, physics-based puzzlers, RPGs and possibly others. Creating graphics for games will be achieved just by swiping your finger after selecting one of four themes for the game like Pixel, Shadow, Smooth or Candy. The app will support the mixing and matching of different types of games and you will be able to create your own avatars. Once your new game is created, Createrria can be used to share your games with others. According to Createrria, you will also be able to generate videos from games that can be shared via YouTube, Facebook or Twitter.
It appears Createrria will be free for download and a limited set of tools and graphics will be available for potential game designers. Additional tools and assets will be available for in-app purchase. You can check out the video below showing how Createrria can be used to create new games.
