ZTE Axon 7 with 5.5-inch QHD display, $399.98 price tag now available to pre-order in U.S.

Back in May of this year, ZTE officially introduced the Axon 7 smartphone, an all-metal smartphone with a ridiculous amount of high-end specifications. Now ZTE is finally opening pre-orders for the its latest flagship smartphone.

As a refresher, the Axon 7 features a 5.5-inch Quad HD display placed within an aluminum unibody frame. Under the hood there’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor coupled with 4GB of RAM. On the back there’s a 20-megapixel camera, and on the front an 8-megapixel front-facing shooter. There are front-facing speakers above and below the display as well.

The Axon 7 features 64GB of built-in storage as well as a microSD card slot which doubles as a secondary SIM card slot. The battery measures in at 3140mAh, and it’s got QuickCharge 3.0 support. There’s a fingerprint reader on the back of the phone, too.

The Axon 7 is running Android 6.0.1 out of the box with ZTE’s proprietary MiFavor 4.0 user interface. It supports LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 25, 26, 29, 30, and 31, and it’ll also support Google’s Daydream virtual reality (VR) platform.

ZTE’s newest flagship is now available to pre-order in the United States directly from ZTE as well as Amazon, Best Buy, B&H Photo Video, and Newegg. It boasts a $399.98 price tag. There’s an Ion Gold version that will start shipping on July 27, while the Quartz Gray variant will begin shipping on August 17.
