Ever since the One M7, HTC has been using Super LCD 3 for all of its devices. Before Samsung’s Super AMOLED displays became the industry standard for colour accuracy and viewing angles, HTC was one of the few companies that tried to achieve such things with SLCD3. Now it looks like we’ll have a display two generations newer for its upcoming flagsip smartphone.

Evan Blass took to Twitter this morning to confirm the company’s plans to use Super LCD 5. We’re not too sure what exactly changed between the SLCD3 from the M7, M8, M9 to the SLCD5 panel however it wouldn’t be far fetched to say that it will probably bring even better color accuracy and lower power consumption. Aside from that, the phone will sport a 3,000 mAh battery.

We also get to see a newer press shot of the phone featuring an April 12 launch date and a refreshed HTC Sense UI running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
